Acclaimed Norwegian director Yngvild Aspeli returns to the LUTKE Festival this year with A Doll's House, based on Henrik Ibsen's text, to explore how the stories of the past intertwine with the present. The two performers, surrounded on stage by human-sized puppets, use them to bring the deepest human feelings, emotions and passions to life. Nora, this wife and mother who would prefer to leave everything behind, bangs her head against the invisible glass surface of her own existence.

This performance at the LUTKE Festival marks the Slovenian premiere of the production, which will star Maja Kunšič, Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana's ensemble champion, as Nora (otherwise alternating with director Yngvild Aspeli).

Norwegian Yngvild Aspeli graduated from the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris and the École Nationale des Arts Marionnettes de Charleville-Mézières (ESNAM). She works as an actress and puppeteer and makes masks and puppets for various theatres in France, Norway and England. In 2008, she founded the group Plexus Polaire, a strong team of co-creators who have been working together for several years. Her poetry combines images and words, sounds and gestures, fantasy and matter, and the central idea of her content is to penetrate and touch the most hidden human emotions. In this process, there is a sensual encounter between the animator and the puppet, but they are also particularly interested in questioning and portraying feelings on stage.
